The current committee has overseen much of the growth in recent years. Now with their children reaching (or even well-past) their last year of Junior Basketball a number of committee members will be retiring at the next AGM. It is only through the wonderful work of volunteers that the club continues to thrive, and we are grateful for all their hard work.
As parents we want our kids to have as many enjoyable learning and development experiences as we can give them. Junior basketball is one of those experiences and West Brisbane Falcons strives to provide fun, physical team activities that help children grow into well-rounded adults.
All of this success would not be possible without our parents, who run kids to training and games, step up as Managers and Coaches, and also volunteer on the committee that runs the club.
So, it’s time for a new guard to step up to assist in leading the club into the future. If you are thinking of taking on a bigger role in the club, have skills that can help, feel passionate about the direction of the club, or are looking for a meaningful involvement in the club, now is the time to do it – there are smaller and larger roles that will help us go from strength to strength.
Below is snapshot of the key roles on the committee, and the commitment that might be expected in office. Or talk to a committee member to find out what a role entails and discuss how you might contribute.
Please consider nominating for one of the roles on the committee. The committee has a pivotal role in ensuring the opportunities continue for kids to train, develop and play, and ensuring that we keep seeing people of all ages engaged in the great game of Basketball.
