Congratulations to Falcons Players Isabelle Parker, Ashlee Hannan & Grace Champion on being selected into the 2015 National Perforamce Program.
The next crop of potential Australian Boomers and Opals are being set on the right path, after being inducted into the Basketball Queensland National Performance Program.
A record number of 24 young athletes (12 boys and 12 girls) were inducted into the program on Sunday 1 February 2015 at the Queensland Academy of Sport, marking the start of a year-long intensive development program. Inductees were given an overview of the year ahead, underwent physical testing by sports peformance providers Acceleration ESP, and were given their official Queensland Academy of Sport/National Performance Program uniforms.
The National Performance Program (NPP) is the top-tier of the Basketball Queensland elite development pathway and identifies young athletes who have the potential to represent Australia at the national level in the Australian Under 17 and Under 19 Junior teams, and beyond.
Over the next 12 months the 24 athletes will receive individual and customised development programs, with the support of a team of dedicated coaching, sport science and other support staff through Basketball Queensland, Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence and the Queensland Academy of Sport.
