Position Vacant – Coaching Coordinator

The West Brisbane Falcons are looking for a Coaching Coordinator who has experience in coaching junior basketball, excellent communication skills and an eye for detail. This involves a weekly Commitment at the start of the season (approx 4-6 Hours) establishing coaches, helping with grading activities and establishing teams. Once the season commences (1 – 2 hours) provide support to the coaches as required.

What are the responsibilities of the role?

The Coaching Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the coaching and skills development across the Junior players. The Coaching Coordinator is a key role in ensuring the playing experiences of the club match our aims of enjoying basketball and developing skills. This role requires knowledge and experience in coaching junior basketball, patience, excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

The responsibilities of the Coaching Coordinator are:

establish Head Coaches for each age group
assist the Head Coaches to establish Coaches for all Junior teams
coordinate with the head coaches to facilitate grading activities for team selection.
submit team nominations across the Junior Club to BBI
liaise with the coaches to develop the Championship season training schedule for all teams
provide support for volunteer coaches
liaise with other committee members, players and parents regularly during the season
ensure current qualifications through the National Coaches Accreditation Scheme
- in addition Identify coaches who need to complete the Club Coach level 1 & Association Coach level 2 coaching courses
establish a climate that enhances feelings of self-confidence and self-esteem within the participants, promoting enjoyment of the sport for both coaches and athletes
foster team spirit amongst all players and encourage participation in a sporting manner
co-ordinate our 5 week Development, Training an play program in Term 4
encourage maximum participation
